Privacy Policy
This policy describes how pikto.fun handles your data when you play. Our principle: collect only what is strictly necessary, without ever identifying who you are.
1. Who are we?
pikto.fun is a free online multiplayer drawing game. For any privacy-related questions, contact us at solarweb@pikto.fun.
2. Data we collect
What you provide
- Nickname: the name displayed during the game, freely chosen by you. It is saved in your browser's local storage (localStorage) and is never linked to a real identity.
Automatically generated technical data
- Player ID: a randomly generated identifier (UUID) created on your first visit and stored in your browser. It is not linked to any personal information and is only used to recognise your session between pages.
- Preferences: language choice and sound setting, stored locally in your browser.
Session data (server)
Game rooms and ongoing matches are stored temporarily on our servers for the duration of the session. This data is automatically deleted 24 hours after a game ends.
Server access logs
Our server records IP addresses in standard access logs for security and technical diagnostic purposes. These logs are retained for 7 days and then automatically deleted.
Audience statistics (Matomo)
We use Matomo, a self-hosted analytics tool running on our own servers. The data collected (pages visited, in-game actions) is anonymised: IP addresses are truncated before any processing and no information that could identify a person is retained. Matomo does not share any data with third parties.
3. Drawing gallery
At the end of each turn, the drawing made, the associated word, and your nickname may be saved in our public gallery, accessible to all pikto.fun visitors. The gallery showcases player creations and lets the community react via a voting system.
What is stored
- Drawing stroke data (vectors, not a flat image)
- A JPEG screenshot of the finished drawing
- The word to draw and its category
- Your display nickname (freely chosen)
- The turn success rate
Retention period
Drawings are kept for 6 months and then automatically deleted. A drawing that receives more negative votes than positive ones is deleted 7 days after that threshold is reached.
Your right to withdraw
At any time from the end-of-game scores screen, you can click "Remove my drawings from the gallery" to immediately and permanently delete your drawings from the public gallery. No personally identifiable information is stored alongside the drawings.
4. What we do not collect
- Email addresses
- Passwords
- Payment data
- Precise location data
- Any information that could directly identify a person
5. Cookies and local storage
pikto.fun does not use tracking cookies. Only your browser's local storage (localStorage) is used to save your nickname, language and sound preferences. You can delete this data at any time by clearing your browser's cache / site data.
Matomo may set a cookie for anonymous audience measurement. This cookie contains no personal data and is restricted to the pikto.fun domain.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to third parties. All session data is stored exclusively on our own servers.
7. Your rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, correct and delete your data. Given the nature of the game — no identifiable personal data is collected — these rights mainly apply to temporary access logs.
